July 30, 2025 - York

Wednesday, 7/30, was all in York. We all went to visit the big gothic cathedral, Yorkchester, in the morning. Since our concert was at 12:30 we all wore our concert attire. I felt a bit conspicuous walking around in a tuxedo, but it started a few conversations. The concert was in a smaller church, St. Helen’s.  We sang our first song outside in the square to drum up some audience and it worked pretty well.  The concert went great.  After changing clothes, the rest of the day was all about exploring the town of York, first with our tour guide Paul, and then on my own.  St Helen’s church  Yorkchester Cathedral  Yorkchester Cathedral  Yorkchester Cathedral  Yorkchester Cathedral  Decorations in the chapter house of Yorkchester Cathedral  Yorkchester Cathedral  Back to St Helen’s Church for the concert.  In St Helen’s  Stopping for gelato  An wall from Roman times (first century) More of the ancient Roman wall  A vie...
