At Rob Roy’s cave (photo credit: Ross)
Today was all along the north half of the east bank of Loch Lomond. My Macs Adventures (the company I booked the trip from) phone app described the hike as “moderate to strenuous “. I thought that was kind of odd because lakes are obviously flat and the map showed the trail as being pretty close to the shoreline. It turned out that it was a very steep and rocky shoreline for a lot of the way and it was necessary to pick your way up and down some steep slick rocks. Fortunately I was hiking with my new friend Ross and we were talking most of the time and I barely noticed the rocks. It was beautiful but very slow going though. I also somehow managed to not take pictures of the steep slick rocky bits. I guess I was too busy looking at my feet.

A very old fuchsia in the forest. The trunk ( on the right) was about 2” in diameter.
Lots of steps and boardwalks

The hotel was across the Loch so I had to raise the big orange ball so the ferryman on the other side could see he had a customer.
The Ardlui Hotel. Unfortunately, my room was right above the bar. Fortunately, I liked the music they played until midnight so it wasn’t so bad.
