August 7, 2025 - To Scotland! Walking Tomorrow

Train view

Started out the day with a nice walk through Waterlow Park, practically across the street from Carmen and Rich’s. Then I helped Carmen with the piece of the garden she is taking care of at St Joseph’s (Holy Joe’s) across the street.

After packing up and saying goodbye I walked to the Archway tube station and got on the 10:30 train to Glasgow at Euston Station. It was about a 4 hour train ride for 400 miles, nice and smooth. Unfortunately I didn’t have a very good seat because there was a wall instead of a window where I sat. Eventually when a few people got off I was able to move to a good window. I had a nice walk through downtown Glasgow to get to a different train station. It looks like a great city. The final leg of the trip was a local train to the town of Milngavie where the West Highland Way starts for me tomorrow.

I lucked out on the place I’m staying. It’s really beautiful. The town is certainly making the most of its connection to the West Highland Way. There are signs all over the place. I’m not likely to get lost tomorrow!
